Burnaby RCMP is looking to identify a suspect in an alleged sexual assault involving a 6-year-old boy that occurred at Metrotown.

On Friday September 9, 2022, at approximately 4:00 p.m., frontline officers responded to a report that an unknown man had grabbed and pinched a 6-year-old boy’s buttocks in the food court area of Metrotown. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

A witness was able to capture the below photo of the alleged suspect.

If you recognize the man in the photo, please come forward and speak to our investigators, said Corporal Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP, There have been no similar reports in the area, but if you know of a similar incident or witnessed this one, we would like to hear from you.

The victim and his family have been offered supports.
