The Shawnigan Lake RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to locate Bernard Fournier who has been missing for more than a week.
On April 22, 2023, the Saanich Police received a report of a missing person after they’d been out of contact with friends for several days. Bernard Fournier apparently left his residence on April 16, 2023 to travel to Nanaimo for work and no one has seen or heard from him since. Shawnigan Lake RCMP have now taken conduct of the investigation after Bernard’s vehicle was located in a parking lot in the Mill Bay area. Surveillance video further confirmed that Bernard was in the 2700 block of Mill Bay Road between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on April 16, 2023.
Bernard Fournier was last seen walking southbound on Mill Bay Road.
Bernard Fournier is described as:
- 62-years-old
- Caucasian man
- 185 cm (6 ft 1 in)
- 89 kg (196 lbs)
- Medium build
- Short grey hair
He was last seen wearing:
- Glasses
- Blue jeans
- Grey/brown t-shirt
- Grey/Black running shoes
- Dark coloured vest
Police are concerned for Bernard’s wellbeing as it is unusual for him to be out of contact with friends and family for so long, or to leave his vehicle unattended.
Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Bernard Fournier is asked to contact the Shawnigan Lake RCMP at 250-743-5514.
