Seeking assistance in identifying suspects from alleged mischief to Pride crosswalks

Richmond RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying four suspects involved in alleged mischiefs to Pride crosswalks.

Between August 1 and August 29, 2023 Richmond RCMP have investigated nine incidents where Pride crosswalks were vandalized with anti LGBTQ2S+ graffiti.

Richmond RCMP Youth Section are conducting a thorough investigation of all of these incidents. Extensive video canvassing has been conducted resulting in four suspects associated to an alleged mischief that took place in the overnight hours of August 2, 2023. This incident occurred at a local high school in the 8100 block of St. Albans Rd.

While the suspects faces are all covered, some are wearing distinctive clothing which may assist in their identification, says Corporal Adriana O’Malley, Richmond RCMP Media Relations Officer, We are releasing these nine images and encourage anyone who recognizes these individuals or has information regarding these incidents to contact police.

Hate motivated crimes or incidents can have a significant impact on those being targeted. These mischiefs can potentially undermine our LGBTQ2S+ community’s sense of safety in Richmond, says Inspector Michael Cohee, Officer-in-Charge of Investigative Services and Community Engagement, Everyone has the right to feel safe and we are doing everything we can to identify those involved which is why we are appealing to the public for your assistance in identifying these suspects.
